Description: World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway defends his title against challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi of Russia in Game 7 of the 2021 World Chess Championship match that is being held in Dubai. It's a best of 14 games where the first player to earn 7.5 points earns the lion's share (60%) of a $2.24 million prize pool, and the title of "World Chess Champion". Nepomniachtchi sticks with the best by test, e4. The opening is another Ruy Lopez where play follows game 5 until Nepomniachtchi deviates on move 11 with d3. The middlegame battle involves white’s build up of a pawn center with the possibility to establish a pawn in Carlsen’s home. Carlsen’s approach looks to address this potential space invader pawn by generating a direct threat in the center.
